When I paint I go inward to locate the forms and images that need to be expressed, which often have alignment with imagery from other cultures and traditions that help me to deepen my understanding of the meaning of these forms. This painting is a perfect example of an image that emanated from within that had aspects of a Hindu representation of the intersection of the male and female principle. See below:

It is in the heart chakra that Kundalini Shakti appears for the first time as a beautiful goddess.She sits in lotus posture within a triangle. The triangle is pointing upward, showing the tendency of Shakti to move upward and carry the aspirant into the higher planes of existence.
